This program for high-achieving high school seniors brings you to campus for a week of training in securities analysis before managing a $100,000 virtual stock portfolio. Offered by the LKCM Center for Financial Studies at TCU Neeley School of Business.

Build and manage a high-value investment portfolio.

June 1–5 and June 15–19, 2026

If you are entering your senior year of high school in Fall 2026, apply to the TCU High School Investor Challenge. Applications and recommendations must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on April 1, 2026.  

What You’ll Experience

A Week of College-level Classes at TCU

Spend five days living on campus and taking college-level finance classes at the TCU Neeley School of Business. You’ll study securities analysis and portfolio management, learning how to evaluate companies and build investment strategies using real-world data.

Manage a $100,000 Virtual Portfolio

You’ll apply what you’ve learned by managing a virtual portfolio throughout your senior year, submitting periodic stock reports for feedback and refinement.

The program is offered twice each summer: June 1–5 and June 15–19, 2026. Students continue managing their portfolios from summer through spring.  

Program cost is $1,600 and covers room, board and program expenses. Financial assistance can be requested by those with financial need. The request must be submitted at the time the application is submitted. 

Apply to the High School Investor Challenge by completing the following steps: 

  • Complete the online application form  
  • Provide contact information for a teacher or counselor who will submit a recommendation  
  • Upload a copy of your high school transcript  

2026 applications are closed. 

After submission: 

  • Applications are reviewed based on academic achievement, leadership, motivation and interest in investing  
  • Selected applicants will be invited to interview  
  • Final admission decisions are communicated via email in April  

To confirm enrollment, accepted students must: 

  • Be entering their senior year of high school with an expected graduation in May or June 2027
  • Demonstrate strong academic performance, particularly in math  
  • Plan to continue their education after high school  
  • Commit to attending the full summer program  
  • Provide proof of medical insurance coverage  
  • Bring a laptop or tablet with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
