Graduate FAQ

How do I set up my TCU username, password and email?
Create your TCU username and password at newuser.tcu.edu. Set up password reset information at mypw.tcu.edu/pwreset. Your TCU email is created when you set up your user account and will become the university’s primary way to communicate with you.

When should I start checking my TCU email?
Immediately. During the summer before you begin, some information may be sent to the email address on your application. After that, all official correspondence will go to your TCU email.

How do I access email and Office 365?
Access your TCU email through Office 365 or other supported applications. Office 365 is available to incoming students at office.tcu.edu using your TCU credentials. Read more.

Are laptops required?
You need access to a laptop for classrooms and team meeting rooms. A Windows-based system is recommended because much of TCU Neeley’s classroom technology is configured for Windows. Mac users may need additional configuration and a video adapter for classroom presentations.

Where do most TCU MBAs live?
TCU MBA students live throughout the DFW Metroplex, with many choosing to live near campus. Keep evening and weekend activities in mind when choosing where to live.

How do I update my contact information?
Update your contact information in my.tcu.edu.

What should I do before arriving on campus?
Complete any pre-enrollment academic modules and career preparation assignments, and review upcoming orientation or onboarding events.

What is the graduate business honor code?
The graduate business honor code supports pride, integrity and accountability across TCU Neeley graduate programs. It provides a process for addressing academic integrity concerns, protecting due process and strengthening the reputation of TCU Neeley graduate degrees.

Are there student organizations I can join?
Graduate students can connect through networking events, leadership opportunities and student organizations across TCU Neeley.

Explore Student Experience

What is orientation?
Orientation is an immersive experience designed to help full-time students get to know classmates, faculty and teams while preparing for academic and professional success.

What should I do before orientation?
Refresh Excel and PowerPoint skills, complete any optional preparation modules and make sure you have appropriate business attire for required events.

What should I expect during orientation?
Students participate in onboarding sessions, team activities and applied learning experiences, including a case-based project or competition.

Who do I contact with questions about orientation?
TCU Neeley Graduate Admissions: mbainfo@tcu.edu

When do I enroll in classes?
Students typically enroll during orientation or START Workshop. Enrollment information is reviewed in advance through program communications or live Zoom sessions.

What are classroom expectations like?
Many MBA courses use a flipped classroom model, with lectures and readings completed outside of class so in-class time can focus on discussion, application and problem-solving.

When should I decide on a specialization?
Students should confirm a specialization as early as possible. Career services and advising can help students align coursework with career goals.

Are prep-program modules required?
No. Pre-program modules are optional and available through LinkedIn Learning to help students refresh Excel, statistics, accounting or other technical skills before classes begin.

What leadership opportunities are available?
Graduate students may pursue leadership opportunities through class representative roles, student organizations, MBA Association leadership, Career Ambassadors, Neeley LEAD and other programs.

How much time do full-time MBA students spend together outside of class?
It varies by student and team. Students often collaborate on group assignments outside class, while social and networking involvement depends on individual schedules.

How much interaction is there between first- and second-year MBA students?
First-year MBA students are often matched with second-year mentors and may connect with second-year students through student organizations, career events, competitions and electives.

What should I expect from my second-year mentor?
Your mentor will be assigned based on your career interests and background, with the goal of connecting you to someone with common interests. Your second-year mentor will serve as a resource to help ease your transition back to school and throughout your first semester.

Is it possible to work part time during the first semester of the full-time program?
No. The fall semester is highly demanding due to coursework, career activities, experiential learning and team commitments. Some students may be able to work part time later, depending on schedule.

How can my spouse or significant other get connected?
Significant others may be invited to select events during START Workshop and other social gatherings throughout the year.
